Naturalistic Teaching

Definition

Naturalistic Teaching involves embedding instructional goals into play or everyday routines, making the learning process more natural and contextually relevant for the learner.

Example

For example, a therapist working on teaching a child to request objects might have toys available during playtime. If the child shows interest in a toy, the therapist waits for the child to make a verbal request (mand) before giving the toy, ensuring that learning occurs in a natural, engaging context.
