Reprimandย is a form of verbal correction in which the teacher, therapist, or caregiver tells the learner to stop engaging in a particularย behavior. Reprimands are typically used to decrease the likelihood of theย behaviorย occurring again in the future.
Example
A child is running in the hallway, and a teacher says, โStop running!โ The verbal reprimand informs the child that theirย behaviorย is not acceptable, and the goal is to reduce the occurrence of running in the hallway in the future.
