Self-Management

Self-Management refers to the personal application of behavior change techniques to achieve a desired modification in one’s own behavior. It involves self-monitoring, setting goals, and using reinforcement or other strategies to promote positive behavior changes.

Example

A student sets a goal to finish their homework by 6 p.m. each day and rewards themselves with extra screen time for meeting this goal. By using this self-monitoring and reinforcement system, the student successfully manages their time and improves homework completion.
