This method is useful when you want to assess how often a behavior occurs compared to how many chances the individual had to engage in that behavior.

Formula:

Example:

A teacher gives a student 10 opportunities to answer questions during class. The student answers correctly 7 times. To calculate the percent of occurrence:

Percent of Occurrence=(710)×100=70%\text{Percent of Occurrence} = \left( \frac{7}{10} \right) \times 100 = 70\%Percent of Occurrence=(107​)×100=70%

This means the student correctly answered the questions 70% of the time.
