Inter-response time (IRT)

Definition

Inter-response time (IRT) refers to the amount of time that elapses between two consecutive responses or occurrences of behavior.

Example

If a student is completing math problems, the inter-response time would be the time interval between finishing one math problem and starting the next. For instance, if a student finishes problem 1 and starts problem 2 after 5 seconds, the IRT is 5 seconds.
