Modeling

Modeling occurs when a learner observes and then imitates a demonstrated behavior, leading to the acquisition of new skills.

Example

A teacher shows a child how to tie their shoelaces by slowly tying their own shoes in front of the child. The child watches and then tries to tie their own shoes, imitating the teacher’s movements. This learning process is driven by the child observing the modeled behavior and practicing it.
